I have Kim Zolciak in NYC on the 9th of December and would like to book her for a paid appearance that night. Her hit single "Tardy for the Party" is climbing up the charts and she has been performing in clubs all over. She will be in town to do the Wendy Williams Show that day and has space in her schedule for that evening! Anyone needing information please contact me at jennair4kz@live.com.

You betcha! John knows what he is talkin' about. Overall, I think gay places have less attitude and you could feel more free to be yourself since gays do know how it is like to be different. I've heard this from my straight friends who go to gay bars for the first time and feel very accepted. Oh ... and gays know how to P.A.R.T.Y with a constant flow of that magic elixir called booze and fierce dance moves!

Feeling a little lost is part of NY's charm! You'll have a blast just wandering around, but I'd start out in Chelsea, work your way down to the Meat Packing District (take the HIGHLINE if it's nice weather--you can ask anyone where it is), then over to the West Village, and then you can either go south for great shopping in Soho, or keep moving east for awesome little restaurants and shops in the East Village. I definitely suggest wandering with a map--you'll find the structure of the city isn't hard to figure out once you're out and about, and the subways make it super easy to get around. Here are some of my favorite bars, but you should look through the new york bars here on gaycities and see which ones pop out for you.

Therapy
Rockit Fridays
Eastern Bloc

As far as where to stay, hotels are usually super pricey in Manhattan. You may want to check out some hostels as a way to save some $$. Also, if you're an art lover, be sure to check out Moma or the Guggenheim. They are both amazing!

Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions :)

Sure thing, billyboy. I lived in San Juan for a year, back when I was in my 20s. I never ran into any anti-gay sentiment in the city. I think if you go to other Puerto Rican cities, you might not find any gay presence at all. Also, you may not hear any English. But you can do day trips to most of the outlying sightseeing locations (such as El Yunque Rain Forest or Rio Camuy Caves) and still be back in San Juan before the end of the day. The weather is usually dependably in the mid-80s during January and February. Hope you decide to go, and hope you have a great time.

yes, manny is right. these venues are perfectly legal, and there have not been reported raids in many, many years, even though there are literally dozens of sex clubs and bathhouses across the country. so, camper, go have some great, safe fun!

Actually, a gay bathhouse is not a public place. It is a private club, and so it is not illegal. I've never heard of a gay bathhouse anywhere getting raided. The only thing you need to be careful about is making sure to practice safe sex - a lot of guys engage in barebacking in those places.

I've been getting some info on an event coming to Los Angeles in April, 2010 - Liberation 2010 Conference. It looks really promising ("an event dedicated to healing the world of homophobia ... the fear and hatred of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people."), but I don't see it in Events and I haven't heard anything down the pike. Here's the website: http://www.liberation2010.com/

Anyway, I would love to hear if anybody's heard anything about it, or if anyone is planning on going.

Z.

My boyfriend and I are going to Oahu from Dec 25th to Jan 3rd and are looking for some guys to hang out with while there. We are looking for a couple that is our age, but really it would just be nice to find some friendly faces that don't mind doing touristy stuff with us (ie- club/beach hopping, local restaurants, etc).

About us:

Live in: Austin, Texas
Originally from: Me-All over TX and Oklahoma Him-Philidelphia
Interests: Trying new foods (I'm Vegan- He eats everything), Architecture, Outdoors activities, Going out, Working out, and (nonsexual) water sports.

Anybody headed that way too? Or know where we can find folks who are? This is strictly platonic.

Thanks

Hi, being new to the Atlanta area, I'd love to check these places out, they look great - but with all the police issues of late isn't it just another place ready for another police raid? I'm just afraid to go with what is going on. Can anyone shed any light on this - I'm assuming the activity that goes on here is somewhat illegal (sex in public) so how do we know they won't be next on the police list of targeted gay establishments?
