WHEN? Friday, 23rd January
TIME? 5:15pm-6:50pm
WHERE? KLT (Khalili Lecture Theatre, SOAS Main Building, Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, London WC1H 0XG)
We will be covering many different topics - this time with a TED-like format! Examples are: what legal regulations are in place that affect sex workers negatively? How could these legal provisions be improved? How can we drop the stigma related to sex work? What can we, as students, do concretely? Queering sex work - how narratives around sex work in the UK tend to envision sex workers as straight, cis, white, working class women and how this analysis doesn't represent sex work nor does it make the lives easier for any sex workers. How are mainstream assumptions about sex work challenged in an artistic form? ... and much, much more!
Hope to see all of you there! Please do invite anyone interested.
Peace, love and feminism.
