Monday December 1st 2014 is World AIDS Day. The Living AIDS Memorial Garden of Charleston, WV would like to welcome you to share in an evening to remember those we have lost to HIV/AIDS and to look on to the future with this years Theme "Getting to Zero" in the hopes we will see a time when the infections in this country and hopefully the world will be at ZERO.
We will have a short ceremony at Asbury United Methodist Church (501 Elizabeth Street Charleston, WV) to honor this years recipients of the Garden's Red Ribbon Award, Caritas House of Morgantown, WV for their achievements in care and service for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Following this brief ceremony we will proceed on a candle light precession to the Living AIDS Memorial Garden where we will read the lists of names of those we have lost. The Charleston Gay Men's Chorale will also perform at both the ceremony at Asbury and at the Garden.
Please join us in remember those many lost to this disease as more than a number of deaths but as the people they were. We instead want only the number ZERO as the number of people lost to HIV/AIDS in the years to come.
