Alamo City Leather & Fetish Weekend III

Next Valentine’s Day, instead of giving your significant a bouquet of roses and a box of chocolates, why not whip him or her into submission? The coming February, plan to attend the Alamo City Leather & Fetish Weekend being held at The Hilton San Antonio Hill Country Hotel & Spa near Sea World. The event weekend was conceived by Steven Parker, who as the winner of Houston Misfits’ first Mr. Third Coast Leather in 2012, promised to bring more leather and fetish to San Antonio. However, after making that commitment, Steven quickly became aware that various groups and clubs already existed in the Alamo City area, but there was no function or purpose to bring the gay, pan, and straight clubs in San Antonio together. As a queer man who enjoys friendships, sex, and relations with all genders, Steven wanted to create an event that was all-inclusive where all leather and fetish folk can come together for a hot time while networking to develop additional shared opportunities. Now that he has two years under his belt as the event organizer, Steven has seen what works and what doesn't as far as creating a successful experience, although he still has a lot to learn. Luckily, he has had the help of friends and acquaintances who have stepped in to make it successful. This year, David “Draco” Sanderson has graciously accepted the “position” of demo coordinator, using his connections in the het/pan community to pull presenters who may be unfamiliar to gay/queer folk and vice versa. This is the third annual event, but the first time being held in the new location. It is hoped that the new venue will become the permanent home for ACLFW. The sales manager at the hotel is a member of the fetish community, and understands the requirements that an event such as ACLFW must meet in order to be a successful event. With the exception of Friday night’s leather invasion of mainstream gay bars and the outdoor cigar social, all events and activities will be held in a private section devoted to attendees. The event begins with check-in of Friday afternoon, and then a bus ride to Main Avenue where the bulk of gay bars are located in downtown San Antonio. Attendees will hit a different bar at intervals until arriving at the final destination, The Annex, which is the area’s bear and leather bar. On Saturday, Dallas Pups & Trainers will be providing the Morning Fetch, which is a popular coffee and baked goods service brought right to your hotel room door. Beginning at 10am, there will be demonstrations running every hour with a short break in between and a break for lunch. The demonstrations are categorized as light, medium, and extreme based on the perceived intensity of the session. Presenters come from various fetish communities, and very respected among their peers as knowledgeable and safe. Rather than simply listening to a lecture about the various acts, attendees will actually get the opportunity to watch and learn as the demo is performed live. There will be a pup mosh in the later afternoon organized by the Dallas Pups & Trainers group for all interested attendees. Jim “Pup Torq” Moran will be stepping aside as Mr. Alamo City Leather on Saturday night during the leather contest, which begins at 8pm. For the third straight year, Lipps LaRue and Lawn Jocqui will be the Mistresses of Ceremony during the contest, with scheduled performances throughout. There will be a break for victory cocktails and a cigar social immediately after the contest outside around the beautiful fire pit. The night will conclude with a play party that includes separate areas for men only, women only, and mixed genders. On Sunday, there will be a guest speaker during the breakfast buffet available. All proceeds from the event weekend will go to the Leather Archives & Museum, which is dedicated to the compilation, preservation, and maintenance of leather, kink, and fetish lifestyles.
