The new owner has destroyed this bar. It was one of the very best in Atlanta for drinks and dancing. The cover and drag shows have been a drastic and not a good change. Now it has closed under this new management. Sadly those of us who were regulars knew this was coming - so sad.

What a mess! These new owners Brad, Ben et al, have just ruined the place. It is just a disaster that they should be ashamed of. There used to be dance instructors there who cared, bartenders who remembered what you drank and DJs that remembered what you wanted to hear. Now it is full of drag queens - which I love a drag show - but not at the Hoe! I wish Deana and Sheila would open another place and put the fading Hoe to sleep for good! As for the people that took it over - thanks for ruining the best country bar in the southeast, possibly in the US.

I have danced @ hoes for several years, including the first location on Cheshire Bridge Rd. It was always the best bar by far! Loved every minute I was there. Made some great freindships and even met my partner of five years there. But with this new owner; my, my, my has the mighty fallen.
Attitudes stink. I really would not mind the shows just on a different night (Any other than Friday or Sat). And the cover doesn't scare my away, I'm actually heart-broken that the place that I have love and long to visit often has turned into such boring, non-freindly and sometimes scary place. Backstreet was great, but let the dead bury the dead; HOEDOWNS SHOULD HAVE BEEN LEFT ALONE!

Since Feb. 2006 I was a regular at Hoedowns. Going 2 to 3 times a week with friends to lessons and to Dance. Since March of 2007 With introduction of one "Ben Elliot" the bar has gone from the Best Country Dance bar in the Country ... to the worst attitude filled Drag bar I have ever been to!!!!! I have never witnessed the fall of business so fast. The new "managing Owner" wants everyone to believe just a small few are upset. But read the reviews since he took over and you be the judge. It is a sad state!!

Hoedowns always had that country feel to it and that's why we went there..I went there the other night and I told the bartender what I wanted to drink and he asked me 3 times again and again whatI wanted..I was like nevermind and went to another bartender..where did they find these people..Get some real people in there that know how to do the job right and have a little bit of a personality! And having a 5 dollar cover, I guess you have to for all the damn drag shows they have going on there now
