I have been to it a couple times and each time i was unable to use my VIP card and charge an high cover charge. I am from Chicago and we don't have that high of coverage unless it has amazing music, which Club Montage did not! Great space but lacks great musci, lights and people.

isn't all that great and from the HIGH cover charges you would think to expect more. What it does have to offer is a cool 3rd floor open air area with a nice view of the city and lots of little nooks and crannies to explore. The music however SUCKS and I mean it's bad...even with two areas.

In the eightys this was the West Coast Production Company. It was a great place to go to. Now it has new owners that have created an extremely cold and ugly place.
San Diego is experiencing a closing down of venues for gay people. Blacks Beach is heavily patrolled by police now. All the bushes and many trees in the gay section of Balboa Park have been cut down so the police can servile the area. The 2200 Club has been closed down, because the city discovered sex happening in it. Gay people are being run out of San Diego. Even this club has been taken over by strights.

Run down space, help with snooty attitudes, LA style cover charges, exploitive "straight night" that causes all the neighborhood and security problems the gay clientele then have to live with for the other 6 nights a week. Another disgrace to the San Diego gay club "scene."

3 floors and always something to do. With a sushi bar and lounge on the roof with a view of beautiful downtown San Diego, this venue works for a romantic date or a night of debauchery. 5 stars all the way!
So, what do you say?
